LVC to Host Harrisburg Symphony for Free Concert on July 4
Lebanon Valley College will again host the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra on Independence Day. The concert in LVC's Lutz Hall in the Blair Music Center will be on Saturday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is limited. LVC Instructor Wins Prize for Dissertation in Criminal Justice
George W. Cronin, Ph.D., of Harrisburg, an adjunct instructor in criminal justice at Lebanon Valley College, has won the Richard Block Award for his doctoral dissertation. Cronin received the award from The Homicide Research Working Group (HRWG) for his dissertation, titled Structural Determinants of Homicide in Rural Pennsylvania. He completed his doctoral work at Temple University in Philadelphia. Cronin received a monetary award of $500 and a plaque to commemorate his achievement. He presented the findings from his dissertation at the 2009 Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences conference and in the fall will again present the findings from his dissertation at the 2009 American Society of Criminology annual meeting in Philadelphia.
